Registration and Enrollment
Important Notice for All Enrollments
Registration is by appointment only. You must pre-register online at www.registration.howell.k12.nj.us. After completing the on-line pre-registration, please select an appointment time.
Although we are not currently experiencing variations in school of enrollment, budgetary fluctuations, class size considerations or students’ needs could impact school of attendance.
Student Transfers
As per Board Policy # 5112, a new resident child who has attended a public or private school may be placed at the grade level, other than kindergarten or first grade, recommended by the previous school.
If it becomes necessary to transfer a child out of Howell Township Public Schools, the parent/guardian must obtain a transfer card from the secretary at the school where the child is currently enrolled. Please be sure that the health information requested is completed. When the child is registered at the new school, a release form must be completed and sent to the previous school. This process permits the child’s records to be forwarded.
To transfer a new resident child to Howell Township Public Schools for the current school year:
- Complete the general registration instructions at this link: General Student Registration Instructions
- Contact the main office of your child's prior school or the district's Central Registration Office at 732-751-2480 x3860 with any questions.
Eligibility of Non-Resident Pupils
The Board of Education will admit children of school age who reside in this district and will admit other children in accordance with law and this policy. The Board reserves the right to verify the residency or anticipated residency of any person who claims eligibility for enrollment.
