Our K–5 students experience schoolwide enriched learning opportunities designed to develop and hone the talents of all children. Enrichment emphasizes high-interest, creative, and deeper learning based on student interests, learning styles, and preferred modes of expression. Classroom enrichment activities build upon the grade-level curricula and offer differentiated opportunities to further challenge students’ higher-order thinking skills.

Literacy Enrichment - Students in Kindergarten and Grade 1 participate in the Star Early Literacy assessment. Once students are identified as probable readers (a scaled score of 852 or higher), they transition to the Star Reading assessment. Students in grades K–5 who achieve scores in the “above” category on Star Reading receive additional enrichment opportunities directly within the classroom, ensuring their literacy strengths are nurtured and extended.

Math Enrichment - In kindergarten, students will receive enrichment based on their strengths in numeracy benchmarks. Students in grades 1 through 5 who take the Star Math assessment and score in the “above” category also receive classroom enrichment opportunities to extend and challenge their mathematical thinking.

Additional Criteria - On the Behaviors That Support Learning rubric, the majority of scores must be in the “Beyond There” category.
