Cross Country
2008
Well, welcome back to another school year and
yet another X-C season! The biggest question thus far? Can the girls make it 4
League Championships in a row??? We'll have to wait and see! We can say that the
entire team is training hard and are focused on what needs to be done! Our first
test will be the
Cougar
Invitational on September 27. The Hornets girls have won this meet once
before and are looking to do it again this year. Summit has proven to be tough
over the years at this meet and this year should be no different! Good Luck to
the Hornets in 2008!

Barkalow
Dual Meet
Recap![]()
Well the Hornet's traveled to Tighe Park yesterday for a classic battle against
undefeated Barkalow. While Barkalow's Boys were just a little too strong for the
Hornets, the Girls race was an entirely different story. The Girls won in
typical fashion. Placing 5 in the top 8 of the race while all of them ran very
fast times! The Boys ran another very good race, and came up just a bit short!
The Hornets travel to the famed Holmdel Park course next week to face 25 team
from Monmouth County. The girls are hoping to make it 3 years in a row as league
meet champions and 4 of the last 5 years!!! Good Luck!!!

Marlboro Tri-Meet
Recap![]()
Well we had rain, clouds, and wind, but we were able to get the Marlboro
Tri-meet off yesterday afternoon. The Boys started the day with a very nice race
but ultimately it was only good enough to beat Marlboro Memorial. Johnny, Zack,
Joe, Bobby, & Devon all ran great races and came up just a bit short. The Girls
team moved one step closer to going undefeated for the 2nd year in a row with
two wins yesterday they are now 5-0 and 21-1 over the last 3 years!!! Miranda
ran 4 seconds better than her PB while Heather followed suit bettering her best
by 6 seconds, Jess and Ali also ran PB's by about 3 seconds each as did Toni who
found herself in 5th place for the day. The team average record now stands at
9:34.8!!! Congrats on a great day!

Howell Tri-Meet
Recap![]()
With a record team average, the girls continue to break new ground this season!!
Led by Miranda's 8:53, Heather dropped her PB to a 9:29. The fast pace of
yesterday's race was good for our younger runners who all ran PB's yesterday in
the heat! The Girls won easily over both Howell teams. The Boys ran very well,
but in the end , it was only good enough to beat Howell Memorial. Howell South
has a very strong boy's team this season! Please check out the results page as
we are listing the results in 2 different formats, single event, and full
season. This should make it easier for you to track your performance. Please let

U.S.A.T.F.
- Regional X-C Championships!!
Well, things
have been a bit crazy, but all the last minute details are just about resolved.
Taking a team 2500 miles away can be a daunting task, but thanks to our parents,
we have been able to work quickly and efficiently over the past 3 days! We will
be leaving Wednesday, December 6th 2006 for Spokane and returning on the 10th in
the afternoon. The race is on Saturday at Plantes Ferry Sports Complex in
Spokane. We are still in the process of working out the funding for the trip.
With much generosity from our PTA and Board of Education, we have been able to
completely pay for the Regional's trip and about 1/2 of the Nationals trip
expenses. We are still searching for Sponsors for our trip. If you are
interested in sponsoring our trip please contact Coach Concato. Check back often
as we will continue to update with more pictures from Regional's and news
heading into Nationals! Thanks for your support!!!

Spring
2006 Trials
Well, the first half of 2006 Trails is in the books
and let's just say things are looking good!!! The Trial included the entire team
running a 100M, 400M, and 1600M over two days! The results were faster than
most thought they would be, showing the the Hornets are a little more fit that
even we coaches may have thought! This can ONLY lead to good things! Next week,
the distance runners get to see if their training is paying off. After a very
tough week of training, they get a rest weekend and they will take a crack at a
mile on Tuesday. Results will follow! Biggest news of the day was Erin's 66.5
400M which is faster than the current school record in the 400M!! Congrats on a
great performance! The 1600 times are a bit slow due to very high winds at the
track..
Please try to get a run in this
weekend, as your fitness level improves, you really need to get 1 day in on the

Forys... 3rd fastest Junior ever!!
Former Howell Standout now running for Colts Neck ran
4:09.77 in the indoor mile this past Saturday at the NYC Armory. This time makes

information the full mile is actually about 1.5 seconds longer than a 1600 which
is four laps around the track! Congrats on a
terrific performance!! For a full recap of the race go to
Colts Neck's Web Site.
Craig returned to the Armory Monday night to break the Monmouth County record
for the 800m with a time of 1:54.6. The mile time is the 2nd best in the US this year
and the 800 in among the top five best in the US this year!
Update: Crag split a 4:05 - 1600
relay split at Eastern State Championships in the Distance Medly. This is the
